Intergenerational environmental workshop for seniors and juniors from Belgrade were held in the spacious garden of Rancic houses, cultural center in Grocka on Friday, 19 May.
Gardening gathering was organized by the Cultural Center Grocka and Gerontology Center of Belgrade in cooperation with primary school "Ilija Garašanin" from Grocka, with the support of the Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, which provided the material.
Fun and being outdoors for 60 junior and senior citizens passed in joint work - painting clay pots and pots from recycled PET bottles, and then planting and creating ikebana of flowering plants and succulents obtained from nurseries of urban greenery.
Ikebana was "completed" in the classrooms of the school "Ilija Garašanin", so that students could refine their workspace and also continue to care for the plants which they planted themselves. Intergenerational gathering was attended, apart from representatives of the Center for Culture, coordinators Daily clubs and social workers from the Gerontology Center of Belgrade, a teacher from the school library in Grockoj, as well as representatives of the Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac.
The event is supported by the Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac, a series of events marking the tenth anniversary of its work under the slogan "Celebrating solidarity" with the support of the EU Program "Europe for Citizens".
