Qualifications:

  • University degree in Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, Marketing, or other relevant area or university degree with relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in working in communications environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in public relations and public awareness.
  • Experience and knowledge in dealing with traditional media.
  • Experience in digital marketing, especially social media management.

Duties:

  • Development of public relations strategies.
  • Develops strategies for communicating projects successes and outreach for storytelling.
  • Responsible for implementation of promotional and awareness raising campaigns.
  • Oversees the development of and provides content for public awareness campaigns.
  • Write and disseminate media advisories, news releases and respond to requests for information from the media.
  • Prepare and deliver speeches to public.
  • Prepare organizational publications and content for the website, blogs, and newsletter.
  • Develop creative and engaging social media strategies, managing social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
  • Oversee, plan and deliver engaging multimedia content across different platforms using scheduling tools.
  • Monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with donors, partners, relevant institutions, media, individuals, diaspora, companies, CSOs etc.
  • Administration and reporting on implemented project activities.
  • Prepare organizational publications and content for the website, blogs, and newsletter.
  • Manage website content through CMS and newsletter content through CRM.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Knowledge and experience in moderating public events, such as conferences and round tables.
  • Social media skills with the ability to give the organization a "voice" in the wider media.
  • Time management with the ability to meet deadlines and coordination skills.
  • Ability to organize and deliver when working under pressure and within changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work both as a part of the team and as individual.
  • Excellent knowledge on MS Office.
  • Valid driving license.
