Twenty-two schools across Serbia have been selected through a public call for donations of modern equipment aimed at improving the quality of education in STEM fields - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
A total of 120 secondary schools from across the Republic of Serbia applied to the public call launched earlier this year within the project “STEM Support to Secondary Education in Serbia,” implemented by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation and the NCR Atleos Foundation. Twenty-two schools were selected to receive donations. The selected schools come from different parts of Serbia, ranging from large urban centers to smaller local communities.
The NCR Atleos Foundation will provide funding for 16 schools through equipment donations valued at up to RSD 450,000 per school. An additional six schools will be supported thanks to a donation from Myriad Canada, in cooperation with the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation.
“In addition to 3D printers, 3D scanners, drones, and robotic arms, this year’s applications also included requests for modern audio equipment, meteorological instruments, various robotics components, and similar equipment. There were many high-quality applications, and the selection committee chose 22 schools where this equipment will have the greatest impact on both regular classes and extracurricular activities, as well as schools that can use this equipment to contribute to the development of their local communities,” said Jelena Rakić, Project Manager at the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation.

The development of STEM education plays a key role in preparing young people for future professions and strengthening the competitiveness of a knowledge-based society. At the same time, it encourages the development of critical thinking, digital skills, and interest in innovation and science, while contributing more broadly to technological advancement and long-term economic growth.
In addition to equipment donations, the project also includes the organization of three science camps for students, as well as training programs for secondary school teachers. The project aims to strengthen STEM knowledge and skills among more than 15,000 students across Serbia and improve teachers’ capacities to apply modern teaching methods.
STEM education represents one of the three key focus areas of the NCR Atleos Foundation, alongside economic development and disaster relief. The mission of the NCR Atleos Foundation is to empower communities around the world by using its resources to create long-term and sustainable social impact.
