Call for Applications for Procurement of Modern Equipment to Improve STEM Education in Serbian Secondary Schools Completed

A total of 120 applications were submitted to the call for procurement of modern equipment under the project “STEM Support for Secondary Education in Serbia”, which closed on 7 April 2026.

Through this call, with financial support from the NCR Atleos Foundation, at least 15 secondary schools will be selected to receive equipment worth up to RSD 450,000 per school. The equipment is essential for the implementation of modern teaching and extracurricular activities in STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In addition, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation will select and support five more secondary schools thanks to additional donor support from Canada through Myriad Canada.

Immediately after the closure of the call, the evaluation committee began reviewing the submitted applications. The final results, including the list of selected secondary schools, are expected by the end of the current school year, in order to allow students to start using the new equipment at the beginning of the next school year.

The development of STEM education plays a key role in preparing young people for the jobs of the future and in strengthening the competitiveness of a knowledge-based society. At the same time, it fosters critical thinking, digital skills, and interest in innovation and science, while contributing more broadly to technological advancement and long-term economic development.

As part of the previous project “Education for the Digital Economy”, implemented by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation over three cycles with the support of the NCR Foundation, 26 secondary schools received funding for the procurement of modern equipment such as 3D printers, robotics kits, and similar tools.
