The team of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation participated last night in the last Serbia Business Run of the season, in Belgrade, where more than 9,300 participants from around 450 companies, associations, public enterprises, schools, colleges, and other organizations gathered.
In addition to promoting a healthy life and sports values, the Serbia Business Run also promotes social responsibility, and therefore this year, for the third time, in partnership with the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, organizes the "Race for Forests" campaign.
Everyone can participate in the "Race for Forests", and we all win together. It is a "race" that contributes to the betterment of all of us. It is a race for a better and healthier environment.
All companies participating in the "Race for Forests" have the opportunity to make their contribution by purchasing a package of trees. The funds collected are being redirected to the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, which in cooperation with JP National Park Fruška Gora will organize the planting of oak trees on Fruška Gora this year with the aim of restoring the forest.
Fruška Gora, with its unique flora and fauna, numerous endangered, rare, and protected plant and animal species, as well as numerous sites with fossil remains, which is why many call it a "mirror of the geological past", is one of the most significant areas in our country. Rich forested areas, however, require constant maintenance and renewal. On more than 12,000 hectares, there are old trees with a reduced ability to regenerate naturally, and due to different ownership and treatment of forests in the past, the number of oaks and beech trees has decreased over time. The public company Fruška Gora National Park makes great efforts to manage forests rationally to improve the protection, origin, and ecological stability of forests. By planting oak trees, we contribute to making this gem of nature sustainable.
