Thirty agricultural maufacturers from the territory of the municipality of Medveđa were selected for the award of greenhouses within the call that was announced on June 7th this year. Today, they signed contracts with the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation and the Municipality of Medveđa, for the donation of greenhouses measuring 5x10.5 meters, which were financed from the Local Fund for the Development of Greenhouse Production, with a total budget of 3 million dinars. Although it is a donation, the selected agricultural manufacturers are obliged to participate with 5% of the total value of the donated greenhouse.
Since after the allocation of greenhouses, there will still be undistributed funds in the Fund, the Municipality of Medveđa and the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation today launched a second call that is open until September 6, 2024, and which will enable at least 15 more farmers from the municipality of Medveđa to receive this donation.
"The municipality of Medveđa continues to provide support to agricultural farms, this time in cooperation with the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation. With this greenhouse allocation program, we hope to further economically empower manufacturers in the territory of our municipality. The fact pleases that in addition to these 30 farmers, who have fulfilled the conditions of the call, another number of farms will be included in the second round is gratifying," said Rade Petrović, deputy mayor of Medveđa municipality.
Small agricultural manufacturers, which are numerous in Serbia, are greatly influenced by climate change and find it difficult to adapt. Moving production from an open field to a sheltered area is one of the ways to adapt them and ensure stable yields regardless of weather conditions.

"We are glad that such a large number of agricultural farms received greenhouses today, and we hope that others interested will also apply, there are enough funds left in the fund for at least 15 more greenhouses. The second call, which is open until September 6, 2024, can be applied for by persons, owners of a registered family farm from the territory of the municipality of Medveđa, who want to start or expand their business related to greenhouse production, with direct participation in the preparation and realization of business. An advantage will be given to multi-member families living and working in the countryside.
